Human trafficking happens when a trafficker takes action to exploit another person for material gain. People who are in situations of human trafficking may be found in massage parlours, brothels, strip joints, factories, migrant farms, restaurants, nail salons, beauty spas, construction sites, basements or hidden apartments. They may be subject to labour abuse and exploitation, confinement, debt bondage, slavery, forced marriage or sexual abuse. If you are in a situation like this, or if you might know someone who is, call the Coalition Assisting Trafficked Individuals (CATI) at 519-438-2272. We’re here to help.
